Tips for a Refreshing Mint Mojito Coffee
- We used Americano coffee (yes, with boiling water!) so that it activates the mint flavor when mixing the ingredients.
- You might want to pick a coffee with floral notes as it pairs more harmoniously with mint. For instance, coffee from Ethiopia, Rwanda, and sometimes from Guatemala have delicious floral notes.
- If making this vegan, be sure to use non-dairy creamers such as coconut or almond milk.
Mint Mojito Coffee Ingredients
- 1/2 cup strong coffee, we used Americano coffee
- 10 large fresh mint leaves, plus extra sprigs for garnish
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon half and half, but you can also use milk, coconut milk, etc.
- 1 cup ice
How to Make a Mint Mojito Coffee
This iced-coffee drink is among our best mojito recipes, and here’s how to make it.
First, brew the coffee using the method you prefer. We simply made Americano coffee because of its rich espresso flavor. Still, feel free to experiment with your favorite brewing method.
In the meantime, place the mint leaves and brown sugar in a cocktail shaker and muddle delicately.
You want to release the mint oils without beating it up too much.
Beyond that, you will want to keep the mint leaves from breaking up into tiny pieces – that’s annoying when drinking, speaking from personal experience.
Alternatively, you can always strain your coffee mojito and avoid the hassle. We didn’t do that because we wanted a strong mint flavor.
Anyway, fill the shaker with ice. Then, pour the hot coffee and cream over the ice.
Now, you will want to cover the shaker well. Shake it vigorously for about 10 seconds until completely chilled. Your mint mojito coffee will have a nice frothiness from shaking.
Serve it in a high glass and add more ice if you prefer. Enjoy!
Note: you can double up this coffee mojito recipe or make a pitcher if serving for the crowds.
